1Willow     Learning Update

Central idea: People need specific skills and qualities to do their jobs. 

Over the past two weeks, we have been learning about Florence Nightingale. We have put so much effort into compiling non-chronological reports as well as diary entries. Through our inquiry, we used our DT skills to design, build and decorate houses. During this project, we thought about what it may be like to be architects, builders and decorators. Through making links with art, and our focus artist, the children have explored the technique of collage.

Linked to our current artist focus, we have been learning the technique of collage. We have collaged with pictures but also water colours, which came out beautifully! 

In maths, we have been exploring equal groups, as well as sharing equally. We have used our knowledge of counting in 2's 5's and 10's to help us as well as making arrays.
