Principal's Message

Spring is slowly arriving and the mornings are getting brighter - hopefully the warmer weather will start to follow.

We have been very lucky so far this year to have had some fantastic visitors into the school to share their careers with the children. We are keen to inspire the children for the future and show them there are a range of opportunities out there. If you would be willing to come in and share your career with the children please contact the school and let us know.

On Thursday 14th March at 5pm, we have an information event for parents about the expansion. This will be a great opportunity for us to share the plans with you and to answer any questions you may have. We hope to see lots of you there.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Marden Cubs - Homeless Sleepover @ The Mall, Maidstone

Last weekend Emily, Aiden, George, Joel, Zachary, Jesse and some other members of Marden Cubs camped out overnight in The Mall, Maidstone to raise awareness of homelessness.

The Cubs took part in evening activities learning about the homeless with the help of the Maidstone Homeless Centre and Food for Thought before spending the night sleeping near the doorways of shops.

They raised a significant amount of money for Maidstone Homeless Care and these funds will go towards supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Maidstone's community.

Well done to all of you - you should be incredibly proud of yourselves!

On Thursday 7th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day 2024.

We are asking our children to dress up as their favourite character, if they would like to. This could be a whole costume, a prop or mask. The children will be enjoying lots of fun book-related activities in class.

Our older children will also be visiting the younger children in their classrooms and going down the corridor to read a story to them.

We are so looking forward to a fun-filled day in class!

Bullying has long been a pervasive issue in schools – and, being realistic, it’s regrettably a problem which is always likely to exist to a certain extent. There are still plenty of steps we can take as trusted adults, however, to lend support, comfort and reassurance to children who are going through this deeply upsetting experience.

Such a highly emotive topic can be a difficult one to talk about with children – but honest, open communication nevertheless remains vital to young victims’ wellbeing. It’s important to be aware, then, of effective ways to broach and explore the subject. Our #WakeUpWednesday guide has expert advice on effective ways to support children who are being bullied.
