Central idea: Maintaining peace and resolving conflict can help humans live harmoniously.

Over the last few weeks, we have delved into focusing on the First World War as our example of a conflict. By focusing on this significant event, we hope to understand how we can prevent conflict in the future and help humans live harmoniously.

We have uncovered the reasons why war broke out across the world in 1914, explored how people reacted to the outbreak of war (and therefore how society was affected) and located key battles of the war, considering the importance of their location. Not to forget, we also had our brilliant trip to CEMA last week, where we experienced walking through a trench system and were able to handle historical artefacts which will support us with our learning in school.
