Juniper Learning Update

Central idea: People communicate to share knowledge and experiences.

This week in Juniper Class, we have been using the text 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas to help to communicate our feelings with others. Chloe: "My sister makes me feel loved. Having a nap keeps me calm." Montana: My family makes me feel loved." Jack: "I think of tractors when I sleep, it makes me happy". Esme: Horseriding keeps me calm."

In 'The Colour Monster' there are 6 different colours that each represent a feeling. In class this week we have made some 'feelings jars' which the children have been using well to communicate how they feel. Together we came up with some ways to help us feel more calm including: reading; going for a walk; watching a movie; engaging with our hobbies; baking; singing; seeing our friends and family and doing our rainbow breathing.

We have a new fluffy member of Team Juniper, everyone meet 'Frederick'. Team Juniper have taken great ownership over looking after our new team member. Penelope was especially caring during her lunch time where she showed our class bear what all of the children get up during their lunch. Every Friday, Frederick will be going home with one of the children in our class to spend the weekend with them and their family. We can't wait to read about all of the wonderful things you get up to! Frederick loves tea parties, going for walks and most of all... meeting new friends.

Have a great weekend! :)
