1Spruce Learning Update

Central idea: Celebrations can enhance the way we see the world.

This week in Spruce Class we have been looking at the different ways we can make the 's' sound and the 'j' sound in Phonics.

We have been really excited to start our new book 'Hansel and Gretel'. We have predicted what we think may happen in the story and are looking forward to finding out what happens next.

In writing we have written our own version of the Gunpowder Plot. We planned and drafted our stories and are really proud of how independent we have been!

In Maths we have been working really hard when subtracting and revisiting number bonds to 10. Test us at home, we are getting really good!

The highlight of our week has been Science. We became scientists by hypothesising and carrying out an experiment to test out our hypotheses. We looked at how different types of paper react when water is placed on them. We then wrote up our findings.
