Principal's Message

Another fantastic week at Marden was marked this afternoon by our wonderful EYFS concert. Thank you to all of the parents, carers and extended family who made it in and witnessed the wonderful renditions.

This week we had a pre-authorisation review from the International Baccalaureate to judge our progress towards becoming an IB World School. The shining light of this two-day visit was the children. Their understanding of their PYP curriculum was astounding and really showed what inquirers we have here at Marden. Thank you also to the parents who supported us and our Chair of Governors who was also questioned. The feedback from the review was incredibly successful and we are on track for authorisation later in the year.

Harvest Festival Food Donations

Our Harvest Festival assembly will be taking place on Thursday 6th October.

We are asking for donations of non-perishable foods and household items to be bought into school on this day. The items will be collected by Reverend Nicky during the assembly and will be donated to Marden Food Bank, which continues to support our most vulnerable families and the local community.

Any donations are welcome, but the food items that are particularly useful are dry pasta/rice, tinned meat products, cooking sauces, tinned vegetables, puddings, tea, coffee, sugar, cereal & longlife milk. Nappies and baby wipes are also appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

National Online Safety

A free online safety guide on Google Chromebook.

Google Chromebooks were first introduced in 2011 as a budget-friendly alternative to Windows laptops. They have a cloud-based desktop operating system created by Google that performs internet-based tasks simply and quickly. Although primarily optimised for Google apps – such as Gmail and Google Drive – newer devices also support Android apps and offer a range of parental controls via the Google Family Link tool. Nonetheless, whilst these tools are comprehensive, there are some limitations which means there are a number of risks trusted adults should be aware of.

In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as addiction, malware and your child having access to the internet at all times.
