6 Monkey Puzzle Learning Update

Central idea: Identity and thinking can be influenced through the media.

OUR LEARNING THIS WEEK

This week, we were joined by Alvin Shaw, a magistrate who delivered a talk to our pupils about law and the court systems. It provided the children with a brilliant insight into the legal system and the knowledge that at the age of 10, children are responsible for their actions.

Our maths focus this week has been multiples and multiplication. We have understood what a multiple is and used this to identify common multiples before applying multiples to written methods of multiplication.

In Inquiry this week, we have looked at the history of propaganda, gaining an understanding of what propaganda is, how it is different to an advertisement and what its purpose is. We created our own propaganda before writing scripts for a news broadcast inspired by our core text, Pig Heart Boy.

REMINDER

The children have outdoor learning with Mr Townsend every other week. Our next outdoor learning session is Friday 7th October. The children require a change of clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather.
