1Spruce Learning Update

Central idea: Human relationships can create a sense of belonging.

We have been busy this week focusing on our inquiry into the different relationships that we have, focusing also about understanding our own self. The children have been learning about the parts of the body and they worked in teams to label them, showcasing some fantastic scientific thinking to explain how we are made up. We then used our senses to explore the different things we can see, smell, touch, taste and hear.

In maths we have been working on counting backwards and using mathematical vocabulary such as less than and greater than. The children have also enjoyed our text 'The Storm Whale' during our Reading Rainbows lessons, using their inference skills to think about the events in the story and the feelings of the main character, Noi, who found a little whale in need of help on the beach.
