Principal's Message

Welcome back to Marden Primary Academy for the academic year 2022-23.

I am pleased at how well all the children have settled into their new classes. I would like to welcome our new reception parents to this newsletter. They have started excellently and we are incredibly excited to have you join our Academy community.

This newsletter of course has to be devoted to Queen Elizabeth II. For over half of the existence of Marden school, the Queen has reigned. Considering its inception was 125 years ago, this is quite incredible. Today we hosted a whole school assembly, where we sang the national anthem and other appropriate hymns. It was a beautiful moment that provided an important moment to reflect and pray.

Today children also started working on their passages for the book of condolence, I am looking forward to displaying the book in the foyer once completed.

We want to respect the 10 days of mourning appropriately, which is why our celebration showcase this evening was postponed. We will also cease non-essential correspondence. I do want to assure you that we will remain open and attendance is expected of all children. If there is further guidance from the Department for Education, we will send this through.
