What will the assessment look like?

In your assessment you will complete 5 tasks. These will involve you obtaining results from practical observations (3 practical redox reaction tasks) and from evidence provided (2 tasks when given observations).

You will use the resource provided and your knowledge of Redox reactions to:

• identify the reactant and product species

• link and explain observations with relation to the reactant and product species

• identify the species being oxidised

• identify the species being reduced

• use oxidation numbers to justify which species is oxidised and which species is reduced

• write balanced half-equations for oxidation and reduction

• write fully balanced redox equations for the reactions

• state and explain which species is the oxidant and which species is the reductant.
