It’s time to announce our Team 6A Leaders of the Month for Citizenship!
That’s right… the students who set the bar high, demonstrate amazing Civic Virtue, treat others with kindness, and make our school community a better place every single day. Drumroll, please…Celeste Carvajal Lopez and Stephen Kostelansky. These two superstar citizens have been absolute role models—helping others, showing respect, and representing Team 6A like champions. So if you see Celeste or Stephen today, be sure to give them a big congratulations, a high-five, or your best “You rock!” nod of approval. Keep shining, Team 6A! And remember: kindness is contagious… but in a good way.
Team 6B is proud to announce our November Leaders of the Month: Kleo Notaro and Ben Schoenberger! Both Kleo and Ben exemplify this month’s theme of citizenship through their consistent respect for others. They are always willing to help classmates, demonstrate respect toward their teachers and friends, and display exemplary character. Kleo and Ben are true role models for our MJS school community. Your teachers are proud of you both—congratulations!
Team 7A teachers had so much to be grateful for this past November, especially the performance of our November Leaders of the Month. Cora Schmid soaks up lesson content each and every day, making herself an integral part of classroom discussions. She is quick to share her bright insights, and her curiosity is contagious. Nathaniel Liang is equally impressive in his day-to-day efforts. His steady, quiet focus in class, coupled with his diligent work effort, makes him a model for others in the classroom. Both Cora and Nathaniel elevate the vibe of every classroom they are in, and their 7A teammates and teachers are so lucky for their stellar efforts!
Team 7B is super proud of Cora Perconte and Ryan Campos for being outstanding citizens at MJS. Both Cora and Ryan are respectful and kind individuals. They are excellent listeners in class, and always seem to do the right thing. They are true role models for other students to look up to and follow their lead. These are just a few reasons we want to acknowledge Cora and Ryan as the leaders of the month for their strong leadership skills and citizenship.
Team 8A is proud to recognize Elise Hall and Zuhayr Fakhar as our Students of the Month for November. Both students are outstanding members of the MJS community. Elise consistently shows kindness and respect, helping those around her feel welcomed and included. Zuhayr goes above and beyond to help both his teachers and his peers. We are grateful for the leadership and citizenship they demonstrate each day. Keep up the great work!
Team 8B is pleased to announce our two leaders of the month for November, and coincidentally both of their names begin with the letter N just like the past month. Both of these students take an active role in their classes and stay on top of their studies. Their warm personalities make them an asset in any particular group and their flexible thinking allows them to collaborate effectively and be leaders in the classroom. Congrats to Norah Reich and Nathan Patani for being our leaders of the month and keep up the good work!
The band leader of the month goes to…. Carina Reddy! She is a vital member of the 8th grade concert band, the MJS jazz band, and the Marching Dodgers. Carina is responsible and respectful. She understands the importance of working hard while having fun, and always leads by example. Congratulations Carina!
The leader of the month for Orchestra is 8th grader, Sophie Mar! Sophie is a great asset to the orchestra as she is the current leader of her violin section and has a solo in our upcoming concert. She also readily filled in for a fellow classmate who broke her wrist, learning new music for the Veteran’s Day Assembly performance with limited rehearsal time. Congratulations Sophie for your outstanding violin playing and leadership skills!
Aiden Sumner from the 7th grade is the leader of the month for choir. Aiden goes out of his way to sing a solo warm up each time in class and is always asking for new ways to improve and make himself better. Aiden has input about our song order for the concert, he always goes out of his way to make sure he is singing the accurate voice part in class and generally is always a positive leader each time he comes into class.
