Kia ora and welcome to Macleans College.
My name is Stanley Chang (CHSS), and I am the director of e-Learning and a science teacher at Snell House.
As the director of e-Learning, my role is to support staff with an understanding of the digital tools we use daily and the effective integration of information and communications technology (ICT) in class.
The three pillars
The three primary tools that are used frequently by Macleans teachers are:
KAMAR - Admin, report and data analysis
Google Classroom (and the Google Suite) - Distribution of teaching resources, digital assignments and communication with students
Microsoft Outlook - The primary platform for communicating with staff and other stockholders, such as parents and communities
Teachers also often use other tools, such as Google Sites, Kahoot, Quizlet, Blooket and Pear deck, which you may also find in ICTPD.
In this section, I will give you an overview of the tools you will be using to make your life easier throughout the year.
