Why do we do ICTPD

Building Digital Capabilities

“…in an information age…it becomes essential to prepare students for these new (ICT-related) literacies because they are central to the use of information and the acquisition of knowledge. Traditional literacy and literacy instruction will be insufficient if we seek to provide students with the future they deserve”[.

Why do we have 3 Levels?

As simple as 1-2-3...

At Macleans we want to make things easier for you. That is why we designed a program with a very simple structure. The basics, the cherry-on-top and the things of experts; so you can decide where you want to be and work your way there. Flexible and self-determined, you can go about in the way you want and you can demostrate your capabiities in the way you choose.

What am I supposed to be able to do in Level 1?

The basics

Level One is designed to represent the minimum standard of Digital Fluency required to teach today's digital native students. This means being able to complete basic tasks online in order to, mainly, make content available to students anytime-anywhere.

What am I supposed to be able to do in Level 2?

The person in the middle

Level Two is designed to help with tasks that are not necessarily related to the day-to-day running of a course, but would facilitate some of the work. Particularly for middle managers and teachers with subject responsibility. The focus of this level is collaboration.

What am I supposed to be able to do in Level 3?

Experts

If you are a superhero, this is your level. Experts, gurus and anyone ahead-of-the-wave should take this level. The focus on this level is innovation and/or shift in practice.
