Parents Letter Regarding SEL Surveys
Dear Families,
As you may already be aware, building social, emotional and motivational skills that help students succeed is an important goal for our school district. Over the coming weeks, students and teachers in Liberty Public Schools will participate in an online survey from Panorama Education that encourages them to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning. Some of the topics covered in the survey will include:
Sense of Belonging
Growth Mindset
Self-Management
Social Awareness
School Safety
Engagement
School Climate
The district survey will be completed online at school. Further information will be provided to your student from their building administrator regarding how to complete the survey. Liberty Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all students complete school not only with strong academic skills but also with the skills necessary to foster resiliency and prevent social, emotional, and behavioral problems that can impact success in various areas of a student’s life. Survey results will allow students, parents, teachers, principals, and district leaders to reflect on areas of success and areas of growth for our educational community.
Like other surveys your child has participated in during their time in Liberty Public Schools, you can elect to decline your student’s participation. This will not result in any negative consequences for your child or for your relationship with the school. Please contact your school and ask your buildings assistant principal to add your child’s name onto the online survey decline form.
It is our goal to help students and teachers learn more about themselves and how they learn best by completing this process. If you have questions about this process or if you’d like to learn more about how this survey helps meet your student(s) goals, please contact your building Principal.
Thank you for your ongoing support of your student(s) and of our school district.
Sincerely,
Christopher B. Hand
Director of Assessment, Evaluation and Testing
