Peak performance

Enjoy this half term's highlights from Foundation Studies' Peak Performance initiative where every Year 7 student takes part in extra curricular enrichment after school on Tuesdays from 3-4pm.

This half term we are also celebrating some amazing Year 7 attendance figures! 97% of students attending school on Tuesdays in particular... we must be really loving our after school clubs!

At the end of last half term Year 7 had their first 'Peak Performance Showcase' where they celebrated all the amazing activities they have taken part in as part of their extended school day on Tuesdays!

From Touch Rugby, Drama Club, Debate Club, Board games and more there really has been something for everyone! During the showcase, students from each club presented what they had learned and enjoyed and there were awards given to the Peak Performance Stars who really shone in each of the clubs!

brand new - cooking club!

The cooking club have been whipping up a storm in the kitchen as they practice all sorts of new recipes!

From pizzas to shortbread and flapjacks to nachos they have been learning all kinds of new skills and having so much fun in the process.

We have absolutely loved havig one of our year 11 prefects, Jamie, helping us out on Tuesdays and we definitely have some chefs in the making! 🍽️

The Junior Journalists have been hard at work putting together the school newspaper in the editing room! They have been writing articles all about life in Year 7 for their magazine 'The Lordswood Lifestyle.' A huge congratulations to Ishaq our Editor in Chief who has been keeping everyone organised so we can go to print on time!

brand new - dodgeball!

Dodgeball was definitely our most requested club by the students in our Student Survey so we are thrilled to bring it to life on Tuesday afternoons!

It has been great fun watching the students get to grips with the rules, practice their physical skills but also learn discipline in a self-refereed game!

These team work skills are absolutely vital and just what Peak Performance is all about.

We can't wait to see what the next half term of Peak Performance brings!
