I think that the most important thing students my age have learned during counseling is how we can protect ourselves against people that we don't know especially if we feel uncomfortable or if they may be hurting or taking us away from our grownups. I also think that another very important skill to learn is how to get along with others even if they are annoying or bothering you, in other words controlling your anger so that you don't hurt others physically and emotionally.

Caregiver Comments:
I am so thankful for the counselor for teaching my kids the 7 Habits for Success. I am a high school teacher and teach my students this as well as emotional intelligence and have always wish this stuff was taught at a younger age. Thank you!
Love the partnership with the Victim Center.
I wish the counselors would be more available to deal with the constant growing bullying issues from elementary up and even on the buses! Or even home life issues that counselors use to be available in schools for. I love that the counselors are also available to help grow study skills and manage anxiety and testing and being overwhelmed, but it shouldn't be a full time thing; if there was a way to have more of both.
Continue on working on cyber bullying! This is EXTREMELY important in today's times
Faculty/Staff Comments:
In this age group, I feel our students need the most support with mental health and well-being. In addition, I think it is important for kids to continue learning how actions and behaviors effect others. Learning the importance of respectfulness and treating others with kindness and empathy. We have started to combat more bullying behaviors than ever before, as well as disrespectful behaviors to teachers and staff. These core areas would help our school community in many areas, as well as the individual students.
I appreciate all that you do!
