2022 Survey Statistics
In the spring of 2022, surveys were completed by all 3rd graders in their classrooms using Chromebooks. Both 2nd and 3rd-grade student caregivers, along with all school staff were emailed survey information and a link by our building principal. Results Summary
Students:
47.5% of 3rd-grade students felt that all three areas of counseling were equally important. Following this, 32.1% of students indicated that Social Emotional Development was most important while 15.6% of students chose Career Choices and Development as most important.
Social Emotional Learning Objectives: Students indicated that the most important learning topic was "Know how to make safe and healthy choices," followed by "Identify personal safety strategies."
Academic Development Objectives: Students indicated that the most important learning topic was "Know what is expected when the grade level changes," followed by "Know how to set goals and assess personal progress in school."
Career Development Objectives: Students indicated that the most important learning topic was "Recognize the contributions of all workers in our community," and "Understand the 6 career paths."
Caregivers:
70.5% of caregivers indicated that Social Emotional Learning was the most important counseling objective. 15.9% of caregivers indicated that all three areas are equally important, followed closely by 13. 6% of caregivers indicated that Academic Development was most important.
Social Emotional Learning Objectives: Caregivers indicated that the most important learning topic was "Identify positive characteristics about self," followed by a three-way tie between "Demonstrating respect for others, including those who may be different than me," "Know how to make safe and healthy choices," and "Know how to solve problems and compromise."
Academic Development Objectives: Caregivers indicated that the most important learning topics were "Know how to set goals and assess personal progress in school," and "Know how to manage time and organize assignments."
Career Development Objectives: Caregivers indicated that the most important learning topic was "Recognize the contributions of all workers in our community," followed by "Know the personal and ethical skills needed to work with diverse groups of people."
Faculty & Staff:
95.7% of faculty and staff indicated that Social Emotional Learning was the most important counseling objective.
Social Emotional Learning Objectives: There was a five-way tie for the most important learning topics for faculty and staff. They were: "Understanding personal roles and responsibilities," "Demonstrating respect for others, including those who may be different than me," "Knowing how to solve problems and compromise," "Know how to make safe and healthy choices," and "Apply coping skills to manage life events."
Academic Development Objectives: Faculty and staff indicated that the most important learning topic was, "Know how to set goals and assess personal progress in school," followed by, "Know what is expected when the grade level changes."
Career Development Objectives: Caregivers indicated that the most important learning topic was "Know the personal and ethical skills needed to work with diverse groups of people." Overall, caregivers expressed that career development objectives were only a little important for 2nd and 3rd-grade students.

Caregivers:
Coping skills and strategies if taught at this age would give them a good foundation to deal with the struggles that come in MS and HS
Not interested in seeing gender identity issues about confused individuals put into our school curriculum! If this happens then we as parents will seriously consider pulling our kids from the district
Faculty & Staff:
Mrs. Brake does an excellent job with our students. She genuinely cares about each student and has a great rapport with both students and parents. She is always willing to help in any way needed in our building.
