Patrick Timmins

Patrick Timmins died in 1910 at the age of 83. The flag on his gravestone shows that he served in the military. His wife’s stone is next to his and is inscribed

The stones are interesting for two reasons. Spelling errors were not uncommon on gravestones and in this case the last name is spelled differently on each stone. The other aspect of interest of interest is the recognition of the husband’s military service on the wife’s stone. The only thing the stone tells us about Mrs.Timmons is that her first name was Ann also when she was born and died. The other three lines are devoted to Patrick. However, Ann did indeed have a life of her own. For example, records indicate that she purchased, for $0.50, the first willow basket made by John Fischer
