We make really great audio products, but sometimes our systems needs a little helping hand from our costumers to deliver the best experience. Here are 5 best practice samples to delivery the best audio performance on a Lemus product.
Depending on how you transfer your audio to the Lemus product and what streaming service you use, and what kind of listening room the costumers has decided for the Lemus device. The audio quality can be everything from excellent to very bad. Choose the best options, or enhance those our costumers are already using.
Step 1: Check streaming service.
Choose a streaming service that has Hi-Fi quality or higher. We recommend paid Tidal, Apple Music or Spotify subscriptions. These are all within a curtain quality range from 356Kps and higher. (We do not recommend Youtube or Youtube music at this point 2021, due to the lack of streaming quality information and huge variation in Kps)
Step 2: Check streaming connection type
Always pick the best streaming connection, no matter what you play. We recommend using Google Cast, Spotify Connect or Apple Airplay. These connections are lossless or highress. Both stream through Wi-Fi, but just in different ways. (We do not recommend Bluetooth, due to different chipsets in phones and tablets, what can often lead to bad connection, loss in data, or compressed audio)
Step 3: Check Room Adopt
When the costumers has just received the unit, a room adapt is necessary. This needs to be done correctly to give an exact tuning result.
Make sure the iOS device does not have a cover mounted through the calibration process. Everyone in the room needs to be silent, and yes you need to look like an idiot walking around and swinging your phone. (Do not sit on the couch and wait out the tuning noise, this will not make a great result)
If you decide to move the system to a new location, redo the calibration again. You can do it as many times you want.
Step 4: Check placement
Even when using room adapt, there are things you can do to improve your audio experience. Ensure you have placed the speaker as close to the wall as possible. On our Piano make sure the Subwoofer is not covered by a chair, or anything similar. The room should to an extend have soft furniture or curtains to ensure the room acoustic is not bouncing the audio back and forth as an echo.
If you have got a new couch or curtains, make a new room adaption.
Step 5: Check electronics
If the sound is really bad, something may be horribly wrong. Contact our support at home@lemus.dk so that we together can investigate if there is an error on the SM450, connection cables or the loudspeaker units.
