The Student Life Catering team has partnered with Surplus to Purpose to make fresh fruit available to everyone on campus. It’s a healthy choice for you and helps reduce food waste by saving surplus fruit from going to landfill.
We’re looking to better understand how students travel to and from campus during term time.

As part of Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance, our LGBTQ+ staff network asked students and staff to share the story behind their chosen name.
Many people choose their own names, and we wanted to find out why, how it makes them feel, the difficulties they face when choosing, and what advice they would give to others first trying to find their name.
The response from students and staff has been amazing, and we are so happy to share this collection of wonderful stories.

"She noticed a drop of blood trickling down from her reflection's forehead. When she reached up to wipe it away, her reflection smiled back, but she didn’t."
"I can't move, it's cold and tight here. I wish I got cremated instead."
"In the corridor I see her watching me, “Stop looking at me mum.” But then her voice echoes from downstairs, so, whose eyes am I looking at?"
"The attic creaked; its ancient timbers carried a forgotten weight. As I peered into the darkness, a pair of glowing eyes watched back, their hunger a silent promise."
A huge thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to all the winners.

Our MCPs will then engage directly with senior leaders, bringing forward top issues raised through student voice, ensuring that your concerns and ideas are heard at the highest levels.
