Make certain you have watched the three measuring videos found under Measurement of Ingredients.

Ingredients:
2 buns
1 can tuna
1 stalk celery (chopped finely)
1 slice onion (minced)
50 mL (1/4 cup) mayonnaise, yogurt, or sour cream
5 mL (1 tsp) parsley flakes
4 thinly sliced pieces of cheese (swiss, cheddar or mozzarella)
Method:
Cut the buns in half.
Drain the tuna and blend all remaining ingredients except cheese in a bowl.
Spread the tuna mixture on all four halves of buns.
Place on a baking sheet.
Place one slice of cheese on each bun half.
Broil in the oven for 3-4 minutes until golden and until the cheese is bubbly.

Ingredients:
250 mL (1 cup) ground beef
1 egg
10 mL (2 tsp) onion, chopped
2 hamburger buns
2 slices tomato
2 slices cheese
2 pickles
2 slices raw onion
Condiments - catsup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, if desired
Method:
Turn the oven on "Broil" setting.
Mix the ground beef with egg and onion and form two meat patties.
Place the patties in an oven safe pan.
Broil one side 3 to 5 minutes.
Turn the burgers, and broil the other side 3 to 5 minutes until well done.
The burger should not be pink in the middle and the juices should run clear. If you have a meat thermometer, stick the probe in the center of the burger to see if it reaches 175°F
Place the cheese on the burgers; broil for another minute or less until the cheese softens or melts.
Arrange the condiments, lettuce, and tomato neatly on the bun.

Taco Shells
Ingredients:
125 mL (1/2 cup) cornmeal
250 mL (1 cup) flour
1 egg
375 mL (1 1/2 cup) cold water
Method:
Mix together all ingredients.
Cook in small portions:
Pour 125 mL (1/2 cup) of mixture on a hot, oiled frying pan.
Cook until lightly brown; then, flip and brown on the other side.
Cook the remainder in 125 mL (1/2 cup) portions.
Taco Filling
Ingredients:
250 mL (1 cup) ground beef
15 mL (1 T) onion, chopped
50 mL (1/4 cup) grated cheddar cheese
15 mL (1 T) taco seasoning
50 mL (1/4 cup) water
5 cm (2 inch) chunk of lettuce, shredded
1/2 tomato, diced
2 soft taco shells (made with recipe above)
options:
15 mL (1 T) sour cream
30 mL (2 T) salsa
Method:
Thaw ground beef and brown in a skillet.
Drain fat into an empty can. Add taco seasoning and water; simmer for 10 minutes.
Soften the taco shell for 10 seconds in the microwave.
Fill the shell with the ground beef mixture, onions, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato.
Top with salsa and sour cream if desired.

Ingredients:
1 english muffin or slice of toast
1 slice of cooked ham
1 slice processed or cheddar cheese
1 egg
5 mL (1 tsp) water
5 mL (1 tsp) margarine
5 mL (1 tsp) oil
Method:
In a frying pan, melt the margarine and add the oil. Use medium high heat.
When the frying pan is hot, slide the raw egg into the pan. Cook for 2 minutes. Add 5 mL (1 tsp) water and place cover over the pan to steam the top of the egg.
Toast the english muffin
Place the ham on top of the english muffin, top with the fried egg and cheese slice.
Microwave 20-30 seconds until the cheese melts. To microwave place a folded paper towel under the muffin to absorb moisture.
Serve immediately.

Chili Con Carne
Ingredients:
250 g (1 cup) ground beef
125 mL (1/2 cup) onion
50 mL (1/4 cup) green pepper, chopped
250 mL (1 cup) canned tomatoes
125 mL (1/2 cup) tomato soup or sauce
5 mL (1 tsp) chili powder
2 mL (1/2 tsp) salt
1 mL (1/4 tsp) paprika
125 mL (1/2 cup) drained kidney beans
1 mL (1/4 tsp) crushed chili peppers
Method:
Brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper in a large skillet until the meat is brown and the onion is tender.
Drain the fat into an empty can. Do not put fat down the drain!
Stir in remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Cornbread
Ingredients:
250 mL (1 cup) yellow corn meal
250 mL (1 cup) flour
50 mL (1/4 cup) sugar
5 mL (1 tsp) baking powder
1 mL (1/4 tsp) salt
250 mL (1 cup) milk
125 mL (1/2 cup) oil
1 egg
Method:
Preheat the oven to 250° C (425° F).
Blend all ingredients using the Muffin method.
Pour into a 20 cm (8 x 8 inch) greased square pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
