As you work on each assignment, you may wish to have two windows open on your computer screen to enable you to complete your assignment while referencing a web page to find information.
Working with more than one computer application is multitasking, because two windows must be open simultaneously on the computer screen (known as the desktop).
Those windows can be relocated and resized manually to allow more than one window to appear on the desktop. A quicker way to do this if you are using a Windows-based computer is to:
Right-click on an unused part of the task bar, which is the bottom strip of your computer desktop that has the start button at the left.
In the resulting pop-up menu, click Tile Windows Vertically or View Windows Side by Side.
This will rearrange all your windows to make them appear on your desktop—and that might be too many! If you have more than two windows open, you must minimize all but two. Then, repeat the right-click on the task bar and again choose Tile Windows Vertically or View Windows Side by Side. Now, you will have two workable windows arranged nicely on your desktop.
This allows you to reference one window (such as finding information on a web page) while also working actively in the second window.
