Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well. Welcome to semester two of third grade! As we enter this semester, the students will be expected to ease into taking on more responsibilities. This includes managing upcoming research for the American heroes report. Please remember that your child's five choices of who they'd like to research are due by tomorrow in class. Your child be assigned his/her hero and will bring home their first section of research tomorrow as well. Be on the lookout for a pink packet.
On an entirely different note, please be aware that students are welcome to wear appropriate hats to school. However, the hats must not be worn indoors. Hoods must also be taken off heads while indoors as well. This is school policy. Thank you for understanding.
Finally, it's spelling bee season! Your child brought home a third grade list of spelling words today. On Friday, January 30th the students will take a written test on 20 of these words. The student who scores the best on this test will move forward to the schoolwide third grade round next. I encourage your child to review the words between now and the 30th in order to do his/her best.
Have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the winter warmth!
