December 4, 2025
Dear Parents,
First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of the spare change many of you sent in the week before Thanksgiving Break. Our class ended up earning first prize for sending in the most amount of change. We were able to earn $150 worth of books from the book fair! Most importantly, however, we were able to help the less fortunate at the mission.
On another note, Tuesday was the deadline for the November AR reading goal. The students now have a new AR points goal that will be due on February 3rd, a few weeks after winter break. Please check your child's planner for the sticker underneath the December 3rd date. This will show the goal your child is being challenged to meet. I strongly encourage you to keep your child reading over winter break. Like anything we practice, if we take a long enough break, we tend to fall backwards a bit. We don't want this to happen to your child's reading skills and comprehension.
Finally, thank you so much to Ms. Gomez and Mrs. Goss for spending today with us at Petty Ranch Farm. We really appreciated your help! The weather was beautiful, the students got their hands in the dirt (literally), and the volunteers shared lots of information about agriculture, ecosystems, soil, and the water cycle, among other things.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. McLoud
