What an amazing term this has been for our linguists! I have been very impressed with the resilience and communicative skills of LAD learners.
Year 3 have started to learn about expressing their likes and dislikes on the topic of fruit. They have increased their grammatical knowledge and now know the distinction between masculine, feminine and plural words.
Year 4 have learned the vocabulary of snacks and drinks and have practised their communicative skills through role plays at the “salon de the”.
Year 5 have learned how to describe where they live. They have practised the rooms of the house and how to express what they have or don’t have in their house.
Finally, year 6 have completed their learning on the topic of school, school subjects, likes and dislikes and have concluded this unit of work with a magnificent piece of writing where they displayed all their learning and used more complex sentences.
We will continue to give the opportunity to small groups of year 5 children to practise their conversation skills with a dedicated MFL teacher and continue our exchange of letters with our French partner school in Pia. This module, we have organised an exciting competition to celebrate “le jour de la Francophonie” and I will share the winners and best entries shortly.
I am looking forward to what next module will bring and cannot wait to see how much more confident our learners will become whilst expressing themselves in French.
Have a wonderful Easter break!
Bonnes vacances!
Miss Cowdry.
