During the previous module, the students at LAB had been learning about computer hardware and the architecture of the system. We are continuing to develop the knowledge of how a computer works by studying the binary number system and how the computer language is used to create all commonly used, complex digital devices today. The students have been learning how to convert binary numbers to denary and vice versa. We have been exploring the base 2 number system and how we use it to control the most intricate and complex part of the computer, the CPU and the microscopic transistors, that live within it. To understand how the computer works, we need to understand the language it speaks. This is what we have been and will continue to learn in this module.
