Starting our third and very different module, teachers across the LAB have been tracking engagement in lessons for all students. The Airy college team is extremely proud of all of our students, particularly with the phenomenal resilience and scholarship our students have demonstrated in these first two weeks. Please do check out some of our students excellent examples of work on the Subject pages. This is just a sample of the wonderful effort and progress our students are making.
We are proud to share that this week the following students received positive text messages home for 100% engagement in all lessons. A special mention to our fantastic Y7 tutor groups 7F and 7C as, despite only receiving their Chromebooks just before Christmas, the engagement levels are exceptional!
Despite the challenges presented by remote learning, tutors have been nominating their Airy Student of the week. Students who have consistently demonstrated the LAB values of Ambition, Integrity, Resilience, Scholarship and Respect are celebrated and recognised by our college community. The wider Airy college team have then voted for the winning student.
Each student has received additional LAB Ambassador merits. The winning student receives a phone call home and is awarded a certificate and a student of the week badge that we are encouraging students to wear on their blazers!

Henry
Henry has been very active during remote tutorial sessions, and goes further by completing the tasks and sharing his contributions to the class. This is great for encouraging others to get involved. Recently, he made a short video of him being able to communicate his name in sign language which was very inspiring.

Julianna
Julianna has been consistent in her approach to online learning. She has been going beyond our expectations in her learning, attempting TIF tasks and being ambitious in all that she does. Juliana is self motivated and dedicated to ensuring all work completed is to the best of her ability and potential. I am very proud of her efforts thus far. Keep it up, Juliana!

Princess
Princess has shown real dedication to her education while working from home, going 'above and beyond', in the words of Mr Hughes, in responding to teacher's feedback and completing her work. The work she has produced in DT was a great example of the effort I feel she is putting into her work, completing both written and practical work to a high standard. So far this week she has consistently attended registration and completed all her lessons to standard 1!

Grace
Grace is attending registration, and submitting work for all of her subjects, and is very self-motivated. I have had correspondence with home, and have been assured she is back into a remote working routine, and has shown remarkable adaptability and resilience. I have only taught my form for one lesson this week - LAB Learner - and she submitted her work, which she had clearly taken her time over. Well done Grace!

Carly Savage
Impressive levels of resilience despite some wifi connectivity issues at the start of the week, Carly's work is always carefully presented and impressively detailed.

Jessica Partridge
For her commitment to Remote English lessons, Jess is always wanting to improve and refine her work. She also contributes insightfully to the English TIF Google Classroom regularly.
Charlie, 7C
Charlie has been working phenomenally hard over these past two weeks. In particular, his efforts in Spanish with Language Nut. Not only is Charlie currently No1 on the LAB Academy leaderboard but is ranked 535 in the world! This is an amazing effort!
Finally, we wish our students and their families well at this time and would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your continued support in ensuing the students are engaged in their remote learning. Please remember to ensure students are logging into the Google meetings for P1 register and always sharing their work with their teachers at the end of each lesson.
We look forward to seeing you all back in the physical classroom soon!
Take care,
