The short exchange teacher training event had the next activities:
The official welcome of the headmistress and chief of studies of Colegio La Salle-Buen Consejo to the participants in the teacher training,
In relation with the STEAM curriculum on the causes and consequences of climate change, ethical and social questions, teachers participated in:
a seminar done by a researcher of IVAGRO Institute of Viticulture and Agri-Food Research is an Institute of the University of Cadiz, that conducts research on the reuse and exploitation of remains, waste and by-products from the wine and agri-food industries. And, it provided teachers with the updated information about how to mitigate climate change and reduce its consequences.
a seminar done by two representatives of the center of Astronomy, Geology and Cartography of the University of Cadiz to know how GPS technology works and its use in engineering, mathematics and modelling of geodesy of the Earth, to know the geology and evolution of the sea level rise and its causes and consequences, to discuss with the researches of the center about the transference of their work to the STEAM education on climate change for Secondary Education.
In relation with Virtual Reality environments teachers participated in:
a Workshop on the use of Google Street view on how to create 360º photos to be included in Virtual Reality environments.
This workshop was applied during three technical visits to Puerto Real Coast, Baelo Claudia site and the Natural Park of Doñada.
a Workshop on the use of Virtual Reality Techmachers software introducing teachers on the use of virtual reality glasses and cardboards.
a Workshop on the creation of environments of virtual reality in coSpaces software and how to include the environment created with Google Street view.
a Workshop on the creation of a virtual reality game on climate change that will help in the future the students participating in the project to understand the causes and consequences of the sea level rise in the coasts of Cadiz, where the school of La Salle-Buen Consejo is placed.
Teacher training was integrated in the common everyday activities of the school within the teaching of English and STE(A)M subjects, being able to interact with the students participating in the project.
