Volleyball and Girls Swim head to state!

Congratulations to the Volleyball team for their excellent play and third place finish in the 3A Western Regionals this weekend right here at LVHS.  Playing some of the best ball they have played all-season our ladies secured their berth to state after a Saturday morning victory against Powell.  They were defeated on Friday night in 5 set match against the #2 Pinedale Wranglers, that was one of the best volleyball games played in the Fieldhouse in many years.  They will open their state play on Thursday in the Casper Event Center.  Good luck to the Girls Swim team who will also start state on Thursday with a quest to bring home their fourth consecutive state championship.  This comes after their last chance meet in Riverton on Thursday where they were able to secure several more qualifiers and race entries to improve their chances of earning that coveted championship!  Good luck to both teams and thank you for all your hardwork and dedication as you have represented this school and town with class!

Unfortunately the season came to a close for our Tiger Football team after a very successful regular season where they finished 7-1 and earned their first outright conference championship in years.  They were defeated 41-14 on their home turf by the Powell Panthers, who handed the Tigers the only two losses they suffered this season.  Thanks to everyone for the successful season and especially to our seniors and their parents who have put so much into the past four years.   We appreciate your hardwork and dedication that has brought our football team to where it now stands.

Congratulations to our 2019-20 ALL Northwest singers, Ysabel Diaz, McKenna Kail, Tim Kistemann, Sam Kistemann, Jake Newton, and Preston Plaisted.  We just received word on this late this week and we are so excited about having six students represent LVHS in this prestigious group of talented singers!

We want to invite our parents and general public to our annual Veteran's Day Assembly on November 11, 2019 at 1pm in the Bob Carey Memorial Fieldhouse.  This is a great time for our students to better understand the history and struggles of our country while celebrating and respecting the fine Veteran's of the United States Military who provide us with the freedoms we enjoy.  Following the assembly we will move to the Auditorium where we will host our monthly student celebrations with lots of great things to celebrate and a few surprises as well!  We hope that you will be able to join us for one or both of these special LVHS moments!

Over the past couple weeks LVHS has hosted several different schools on site visits as they seek to learn about the systems we have put in place to guarantee high levels of learning for all students.  Our staff has been asked to present in many different conferences and the results of those presentations lead to requests for schools to see first-hand the great work we are doing to serve our students.  This week our science department will be presenting at the Wyoming Innovations Conference, specifically, this entails how they extend learning for our advanced students using an example from their photosynthesis unit to help their audience understand their methods.

Our monthly PIE meeting will be this Tuesday at noon in the LVHS Popo Agie Room.  We will be discussing our School Improvement Plan and will hear from our Art Department chair as well as have a student council member updating us on their happenings.
