Safe & Sound: Together We Thrive – Emergency Preparedness for Children with Hearing Loss and Their Families
Join us for a one-day interactive event dedicated to empowering children with hearing loss and their families with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate emergencies with confidence. Guided by this year’s theme, "Together We Thrive," we will foster collaboration, resilience, and preparedness to ensure every child has the tools to stay safe in any situation. Through engaging workshops, hands-on activities, and real-world scenario practice, families will learn:
How to recognize and respond to various emergencies (fires, severe weather, medical situations, and more)
The latest in accessible alert systems and safety technology
Strategies for effective communication with first responders
How to create a personalized family emergency plan
Self-advocacy skills to help children with hearing loss feel confident in emergency situations
This event is not just about safety—it’s about building strong connections, ensuring access to vital resources, and empowering families to thrive together in any circumstance. Don't miss this opportunity to prepare, connect, and grow as a community!
