STATEWIDE Services

KSD Outreach places Educational Consultants across the commonwealth to provide technical assistance for families and districts of students with hearing loss.  Technical assistance is available for evaluations, educational programming, classroom adaptations, interpreting, communication, hearing technology supports and meaningful inclusionary practices.  Support services are provided from birth to graduation.  Our services are provided through the Kentucky Department of Education at no cost to districts.

The Kentucky Educational Resource Center on Deafness & Hearing Loss is located in Brady Hall on the KSD campus.  "The Center" offers a growing Resource Lending Library if items related to Deaf/hard of hearing education.  Availability of items housed in the Resource Lending Library can be viewed from the corresponding page (https://sites.google.com/ksd.kyschools.us/ksd-outreach/lending-library

We have recently launched two new programs.  The Language Deprivation Intervention Project (LDIP) will serve to target the critical impact of language deprivation.  Kentucky School for the Blind and Kentucky School for the Deaf Outreach divisions have partnered in a collaborative effort to offer the Kentucky DeafBlind Outreach program to provide support specific to the needs of students who are deaf-blind.
