The idea of the Family Learning Vacation (FLV) event stemmed from a national event sponsored by the American Society for Deaf Children. The first FLV was held at KSD in 1995 and has been offered every year except 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.
The Family Learning Vacation is designed to support families with information related to raising a child with deafness or hearing loss and the impacts on education and personal development. This event is dedicated to building connections and expanding knowledge for all participants through educational workshops and engaging activities. FLV offers a distinctive opportunity for families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children to unite for an unforgettable weekend.

*An additional benefit of FLV is that support is provided to the entire family (DHH kids, siblings, parents, extended family).
