Celebrating Kamehameha Hawaiʻi's Class of 2020
Hīhīmanu A Kāne
Lele mua ka hīhīmanu me he manu lā.
The hīhīmanu flies forward like a bird.
To move forward with purpose and intent.
The ability the hīhīmanu have to intentionally traverse between two realms, the air and the water, is unique. They can access both deep ancestral Hawaiian knowledge and contemporary Hawaiian knowledge.
Hīhīmanu a Kāne expresses the ability as an ʻŌiwi Edge leader to function in both realms to maximize your ability to work towards the vibrancy of our ʻāina and our lāhui. As you move forward and work towards this end, approach it with humility and confidence because you are intimately connected to who you are and where you come from.
A pre-recorded ceremony recognizing and celebrating our graduates aired on Saturday, May 23 at 4 p.m., live on Nā Leo TV. You can watch the replay on our Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel or Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Facebook page. An embedded player and links are posted, along with the Commencement Program on the Graduation Page.
Hīhīmanu a Kāne also took part in a drive-thru celebration on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Watch this page and our channels for highlights from the event.

Watch and you can see, hear, and feel the aloha this class has for each other and the aloha many feel for this class. Kaddison brings it together in a beautiful way, celebrating his classmates and the journey they've taken together, with a look to the future knowing that this is not the end and they'll always be each other's cheerleaders. I Mua!
A MESSAGE OF ALOHA FROM NICK
Senior Nick Souza put together this beautiful message of aloha to his class, Hīhīmanu A Kāne, with a video of snippets from this year so far. This class has so much aloha for one another and it really is heartwarming to behold how much they rally to lift one another, in both times of struggle and celebration.
