Celebrating Kamehameha Hawaiʻi's Class of 2020

Hīhīmanu A Kāne

Lele mua ka hīhīmanu me he manu lā.
The hīhīmanu flies forward like a bird.
To move forward with purpose and intent.

The ability the hīhīmanu have to intentionally traverse between two realms, the air and the water, is unique. They can access both deep ancestral Hawaiian knowledge and contemporary Hawaiian knowledge.

Hīhīmanu a Kāne expresses the ability as an ʻŌiwi Edge leader to function in both realms to maximize your ability to work towards the vibrancy of our ʻāina and our lāhui. As you move forward and work towards this end, approach it with humility and confidence because you are intimately connected to who you are and where you come from.

I Mua!

A MESSAGE OF ALOHA FROM NICK

Senior Nick Souza put together this beautiful message of aloha to his class, Hīhīmanu A Kāne, with a video of snippets from this year so far. This class has so much aloha for one another and it really is heartwarming to behold how much they rally to lift one another, in both times of struggle and celebration.
