The USPhoneAppend service provides phone numbers for individuals and families based on name and address information. The service provides phone numbers for US individual names and addresses only. It does not provide phone numbers for businesses.
Typically, you run this service after you have completed address correction and change of address services. When you run the service, you specify in what mode you want to run. For more information, see PhoneAppendMode.
Note: This service is provided only for the following types of lists: direct customers, political, or non-profit.
The most commonly used fields for this service are listed in the USPhoneAppendField enumeration.
Address Fields
This service requires address information as input. As a general rule, at minimum, the service requires the AddressLine1 and/or the AddressLine2. If these individual fields are not available, you can use the AddressBlock field.
Name Fields
This service requires name information as input. As a general rule, at minimum, the service requires the FirstName and LastName or Business Name fields. If these individual fields are not available, you can use the FullName field.
Locality Fields
This service requires information about the locale as input. As a general rule, the service requires the City, State, and/or ZIP Code. If these individual fields are not available, you can use the AddressBlock field.
Phone Number Fields
The service requires a phone number if you run the service in Update or BlankOnly modes. A phone number is optional if you run the service in All mode.
Country Fields
The information in the country fields is optional. If there is country information, only blank <empty> and US addresses are submitted to the lookup process. Both two and three character country codes are interpreted.
