Today, we were incredible authors and published our own 'Traction Man' inspired stories into books!

LI: To understand the use of subheadings
We have been wearing our Zoologist hats and learning a non-chronological report about Orcas. We have been sorting the chucks of texts and ensuring the sentences are under the correct subheading.

LI: To understand the use of connectives in writing
We have been learning how to use 'and' and 'but' to join phrases together to make our sentences more interesting.
Wednesday 4th October
LI: To discuss new vocabulary
We have been finding out what new words mean in the context of a passage from the 'The Emperor's Egg'.
Wednesday 1st November
LI: To identify imperative nouns
We learnt a very catchy song today The Imperative Verbs Song! and had great fun learning it. Then we used that knowledge to help us find the Imperative Verbs in our instructions on 'How to Catch a Dragon'.
Monday 27th November
LI: To sequence events in a story
We have been reading 'The Disgusting Sandwich' in our writing lessons this half term. We have now had a go at sequencing the main events of the story using freeze frames.
