In Year 3 this term, we explored the different parts of a flower and their functions, labelling each part from the petals to the stem and learning how each helps the plant survive. We then did an experiment where we added dye to water and put it in a flower’s stem. Watching the coloured water travel up, we saw how water moves through the plant, helping it get the nutrients it needs. It was a fun and interactive way to learn about how plants work!
