SECOND GUARDIAN VISA (Key conditions and notes)
The fees for visa application remains non-refundable regardless of the application outcome.
The Second Guardian Visa allows the spouse of the primary guardian to reside in Malaysia to help manage family life during their children’s studies. It is strictly intended for non-commercial purposes and cannot be used for employment or business activities. The Malaysian Immigration Department monitors the entry and exit frequency of Second Guardian Visa holders to ensure the visa is not misused. Please note that Immigration will consider the applications based on a family unit.
To ensure a seamless visa process for both parents and students, we strongly advise against applying for the Second Guardian Visa in the first cycle as the Student and First Guardian Visas.
Reason for the Recommendation:
Visa Validity Alignment: The validity periods for the First Guardian, Second Guardian, and Dependent Visas are typically aligned with the Student Visa, subject to immigration approval.
Renewal Sequence: Once the Second Guardian Visa is approved, the Student Visa renewal may follow within 1–2 months, as it can be renewed up to three months before expiry. This initiates a renewal sequence: Student Visa first, followed by the First and then the Second Guardian Visa.
Short Initial Validity: As a result, the Second Guardian Visa may end up with a very short initial validity period due to alignment with the new Student Visa cycle.
Disclaimer: Please note that Immigration rules and regulations are subject to change from time to time.
LOW-APPROVAL RISK CASES
Applicants from countries eligible for a 90-day social pass.
Only one (1) child studying in King Henry VIII College.
Prerequisite Visas: Student Visa(s) must be approved first, followed by the First Guardian Visa.
Financial Proof for Second Guardian Visa Application (required to provied both):
First Guardian: Open a Malaysian bank account. Provide 3-months local Malaysia bank statements; maintain MYR 10,000/month for 3–6 months.
Second Guardian: Provide 3-month foreign bank statements; maintain MYR 10,000
Employment Proof (Either Option):
Remote Worker: Notarized original employment letter, job description, business licenses and company profile.
Business Owner: Notarized business licenses (legal entity status) , company profile and proving the business is managed by employees in their absence.

The documents required for the Second Guardian Visa basically are the same as those for the first Guardian Visa application. However, it is essential to ensure that the applicant has fulfilled the conditions outlined above.

Enter Malaysia. Travel to Malaysia and ensure all necessary documents for the Student Visa Application are prepared.

First Guardian Visa. Once the Student Visa is approved, prepare and submit all documents for the First Guardian Visa to the KH8 Visa Team.
Local Bank Account Opening. After the First Guardian Visa is approved, the first guardian must open a Malaysian bank account promptly. Maintain a minimum monthly balance of MYR 10,000 for 3 to 6 months continuously.
Second Guardian Visa Application. After 3–6 months, prepare and submit all necessary documents for the Second Guardian Visa to the KH8 Visa Team. For more information on the Second Guardian Visa, please refer to our Visa Support Hub.
Within the single family unit, both guardian visa applications cannot be submitted concurrently.
