Meet Mr. Byron Lewis, BCI's AMAZING Crossing Guard!

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, I embraced life's opportunities. I graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School, leading to a decade of service as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Three Iraq deployments and two South Korean tours added global colors.

After the military, my education passion shone through Dallas Community College. However, while balancing work as a security supervisor, I pursued server admin and server security certificates, finding my groove in IT. Entrepreneurship beckoned, and I am now a few years into a successful career as a barber in the DFW metroplex, operating out of Grapevine as a barber suite owner. Impressions Of Truth!

Above all, I'm a devoted dad. My five-year-old's kindergarten journey started this year, I am proud and I now get to share that with the Keller community.

From soldier to entrepreneur, my diverse path echoes Texas' vibrant spirit. I’m so Fort Worth. I am a man of Faith. I am a Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend to many, and now my new community in Bear Creek

Sept. 4th District Holiday

Sept. 21st Picture Day

Homecoming parade is quickly approaching, as it's Tuesday Sept. 5th. We are very excited and appreciative of our wonderful PTA for putting our HOCO float together.

Due to the extreme heat we are not allowing students to be on the float or walk in the parade for their safety. We encourage those who want to support BCI to come and find a cool spot to sit back and enjoy the festivities and cheer on the faculty who are participating.

House Bill 114 - September 1st

The start of a new month  marks the implementation of House Bill 114, and I wanted to provide you with a reminder about this new law. Beginning today, September 1, any student found possessing, using, selling, gifting, or delivering e-cigarettes (vapes) on any school premises or at any school-sponsored events will receive a mandatory placement in Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP).

In Keller ISD, the first offense will result in a mandatory five-day DAEP placement. The second offense will result in a 10-day placement, and the third offense will result in a 30-day placement. If a student is placed in DAEP, they are not allowed to enter their home campus or participate in athletic or extracurricular activities for the duration of that time.

During a period of DAEP placement, students are prohibited from entering any and all school premises, as well as participating in any school-sponsored or school-related activities. In addition, they will also need to provide their own transportation to and from Keller ISD’s DAEP and are required to adhere to the campus dress code (khaki, gray, black, or navy pants and a solid black, white, gray, blue, or green polo shirt). Keller’s DAEP is located at the Keller Compass Center (250 College Avenue, 76248), and school hours are 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

You are an important partner in your student’s education, and we value you taking the time to share with your student(s) about the consequences of having or using an e-cigarette (vape) on campus. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and effective learning environment for all our students.

CROSSWALK:  In the morning, we ask you to continue to pull up to the second crosswalk where you see staff.  If you do not follow this step, safety will be a high concern for students and for staff.  Once it hits 7:40 AM, a staff member will then move up to the crosswalk next to the awning.  You may then stop and use this crosswalk since there is now a staff member present.

Now that everyone has become familiar with our drop off/pick up lanes, you may choose the outside lane or inside line for drop off.   This way, if the outside lane has less cars, you can take advantage of moving forward.

Parents who choose to walk up and meet their students may do so at the West side bike rack or the North side crosswalk. We ask that parents do not come up to the awning area where students and staff are dismissing as this may cause confusion and distracts our teachers from their duties.

We will have a BOOK FAIR coming up in a few weeks!
