Mrs. Dechert - Dyslexia

I am so excited to be joining the BCI team this year as a dyslexia specialist.  All my children (age 20, 15, and 13) attended BCI and my two youngest went through the MTA dyslexia program.  Having gone through this process as a parent, I am even more thrilled to see the difference I can make in other students with dyslexia.  While I consider myself a Texan at heart I was raised in Westerville, Ohio earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts and English Education at Taylor University and completed my Master of Educational Leadership at The University of Georgia.  Go Dawgs!  I have worn many hats in education from high school English, theater, and speech teacher to working as a media specialist, instructional coach, and an IST.  I am an avid reader, forever student and ready to take on this school year at BCI!

Mrs. Baggett - GT

Anna Baggett has been an educator for 18 years, but this is her first year here at Bear Creek. Anna graduated from The University of Texas in Arlington with a Bachelor's of Science majoring in Biology and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy. She is passionate about creating a positive and energetic learning environment that empowers students to grow and utilize personal grit. Anna and her husband are blessed to raise their two kids here in Keller ISD, which inspires her even more to give back to our school and community.

Mrs. Tate - Dyslexia

I graduated from Texas A&M University. My Husband of 30 years served in the military, so our first years were spent moving around the country.  We have 26 year old triplets who kept us very busy.  After our time in the military, we moved back to Texas and landed in Keller.   Our children are a product of Keller Schools.  All 3 graduated from Texas A&M (it's a family thing!!). All 3 are pursuing further education. Jacob is in his 3rd year of Optometry School in Houston and his wife is a NICU nurse.  Emily is in her clinical rotations for Occupational Therapy and graduates in May.  Matthew just graduated with his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and works in Austin as a Civil Engineer and his wife is also a NICU nurse.

I love to travel and to spend time outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do are gardening, hiking and biking, and I love to read.

This is my 16th year teaching in Keller.   I have taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grade. I have been a behavior support specialist for K-8th grade and a Social Skills coach; working with both teachers and students.  My passion is Language Arts- reading and writing can open up a whole new world.

I am excited to be here at Bear Creek Intermediate serving as a Dyslexia specialist and very excited to be back in the classroom working with students.

Student Recognition

We love to recognize our students as they continue to grow academically and also in their character.  Instead of waiting to celebrate these accomplishments at the end of the year, we like to celebrate each nine weeks their accomplishments!  Please see the specific awards given below.

Every 9 weeks we like to recognize students with the following:

We also have monthly recognition with the following character awards:

Brave House Festival Nov. 3rd

Brave parents, we have pushed Brave House Festival back one more week so it does not interfere with another Campus's Festival. We appreciate your understanding and hope you all can make this wonderful event.

CROSSWALK:  In the morning, we ask you to continue to pull up to the second crosswalk where you see staff.  If you do not follow this step, safety will be a high concern for students and for staff.  Once it hits 7:40 AM, a staff member will then move up to the crosswalk next to the awning.  You may then stop and use this crosswalk since there is now a staff member present.

Now that everyone has become familiar with our drop off/pick up lanes, you may choose the outside lane or inside line for drop off.   This way, if the outside lane has less cars, you can take advantage of moving forward.

Parents who choose to walk up and meet their students may do so at the West side bike rack or the North side crosswalk. We ask that parents do not come up to the awning area where students and staff are dismissing as this may cause confusion and distracts our teachers from their duties.

We will have a BOOK FAIR coming up in a few weeks!
