FIELD DAY - MARCH 28th
As of right now, we have plenty of 5th-grade volunteers to help with Field Day festivities. We are still looking for 6th-grade parents/guardians to help out during this event. An email that explains our Field Day events will be coming soon! Below are the links for registration as well as for 6th-grade volunteer sign-ups.
The pre-registration link is below for Field Day. This will allow us to have badges and sign-outs ready for the volunteer table out front.

GRADES ARE VIEWABLE
Today, grades for the third nine weeks are available for viewing.
Bear Creek Intermediate Parents,
The Big Event is coming to Keller ISD on Saturday, April 6, and we are so excited for our campus to participate!
As background, The Big Event is a district-wide day of service open to all KISD students, their families, and staff members from each of KISD’s 42 campuses. The event is designed to not only join and unite our district and campus together through service-oriented activities, but also to express gratitude for the support of the communities who give back to KISD each and every day. Think of it as a giant, tangible “Thank you.”
On April 6, each KISD campus will come together at the same times across our district and the surrounding communities to serve and give back. I’m excited to share that Bear Creek Intermediate will be participating in the following activities on the day of The Big Event, and your student(s) and your family are invited to join us:
9-11:00 a.m.:
(1) Donation Drive for items needed for animals at Keller Regional Animal Center! (Please see attached to get ideas of what can be donated!) From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, you can drop off your donation(s) on the east side (front loop) of Bear Creek Intermediate. You will see a table set up with staff members ready to receive your donation(s) for such a wonderful cause. Remember to check the flyer to get more specifics!
(3) GaGa Ball Pit – This has already been completed due to our WONDERFUL volleyball nets being installed prior to break. If you signed up for this event, thank you for your interest, however, it has been completed!
(5) Let’s keep our campus and park clean! We are looking for volunteers to help beautify our facilities and Keller’s Bear Creek Park by picking up litter. Since part of this activity is off campus, your student will need to be accompanied by an adult. You will come to campus at 9:00 AM to receive trash bags and disposable gloves. If you would like to wear your own gloves, that would be a great option! If you fill a trash bag on our campus, please dispose of it in our garbage bin located outside our cafeteria. If you fill a trash bag in Bear Creek Park, please leave any trash bags at the location you filled it (off sidewalks). They will be picked up by the Parks and Rec crew.
12-2 p.m.:
(2) Back-A-Bit Farm – Do you love animals? Do you love taking care of animals or working on a farm? Then this is an opportunity for you! (Student(s) must have an adult with them the full time at this event.) Back-A-Bit Farm mentioned that they will know more specific needs closer to the events, however, a few ideas of what could be done are the following: moving mulch, cleaning up barn aisles/stalls, some clean-up jobs around the back field, moving wood piles, spreading straw, etc... You will need to drive to this location and sign in with your student or small group with a member from BCI. (Location is 1354 Melody Lane, Keller 76262). Check out their Facebook page Back A Bit Farm!
(4) Have you ever played basketball or 4 square without any lines?!? ABSURD! Let’s stop this madness and PAINT THE LINES! You will need to check in on the west side of campus for this event. Dress code: keep in mind you will be around paint!
(6) Painting Rocks with Mrs. Linder: Do you want to beautify the campus/Bear Creek Park by designing a painted rock? Well then this is your lucky day! You will be invited into the art room to decorate! You will hear more about where to place the masterpieces (painted rock(s)) on campus OR in Bear Creek Park. IF your child wants to place it in the park, he/she will need to have an adult with them since this is off campus.
You can sign your child and your family up to volunteer and sign the district’s liability waiver on KISD’s secure Web Store here. (There is also a QR Code at the bottom of this email that will take you to the Web Store, as well.) To access the Web Store, parents/students must log in with their student ID number and student’s last name (in upper/lowercase letters). Once logged in, you should see your child’s name at the top of the screen. After clicking on your child’s name, you will see a search feature at the top of the screen. Type “Big” in the search field and click search. You will be taken straight to the Big Event items for your child’s campus.
Be on the lookout next month for an email containing a reminder of specific, day-of details for the job(s) you signed up for. Note that we’re asking each student to wear their Bear Creek Intermediate T-shirt on the day of The Big Event, so be sure you locate that today! And get your social media accounts ready to share photos of your family volunteering; follow Keller ISD on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter); tag the district; and be sure to use the hashtag #KISDBigEvent24!
This event is not mandatory, but we would love to have as many Bear Creek families, students, teachers, and staff participate in this special day. This is a family-centered event, so we’d ask that families attend with their children if possible. Additionally, service hours for organizations like National Honor Society (NHS), National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), Eagle Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc. will be granted for participation in The Big Event.
Attached to this email is a helpful Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, and you can also find more information at: www.kellerisd.net/bigevent. We are so excited about The Big Event and hope you’ll make plans to join us (or the campus of another child in your family) on Saturday, April 6, to serve and give back!
Sincerely,
Brenda Riebkes
BCI Principal
