Brave Parents -

This letter is to remind you of testing dates for STAAR and some other reminders that all need to be aware of.

First, testing dates.  Keep in mind that on the following dates, our campus will be a CLOSED campus.  This means that visitors will not be allowed.  Please have your child bring a sack lunch on these dates, or purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria. We appreciate your understanding since our priority on these days is to keep our testing environments as quiet as possible for our Braves.

READING STAAR

April 16  (Tuesday)

5th and 6th grade

SCIENCE STAAR

April 23  (Tuesday)

5th grade only

MATH STAAR

April 30  (Tuesday)

5th and 6th grade

During testing days, students are allowed to have a water bottle and a snack during the testing time.  One BIG request we have is that the snack is something that will not cause a problem with the items they use for testing (ie computer, scratch paper, etc…)  So, stay away from snacks that are loud when eating (ie chips), cause fingers/hands to get sticky or leave crumbs, and if it comes wrapped, please unwrap and place the snack in a baggie.  Also, remember to stay away from peanut products.

Students will be going to their testing centers the Monday PRIOR to testing in order to turn in their laptop,  charger, and earbuds.  This way, the computers will be updated with what is needed, Laptops will be charged, and everyone will be prepared for Tuesday!  Test administrators will be reviewing with their testing students where certain supplies are located, sign out sheets, how the testing environment will be set up, and answering any questions that may pop up.  We want to ensure that all students know where to report on Tuesday so that the day starts off smoothly for all.

On testing days, students will follow the same procedures.  At 7:30 AM, students will report directly to their testing centers.  Test administrators will start reviewing expectations at 7:45 AM and the directions for the test will start at 8:00 AM.

As always, thank you for your constant support.
