Egg

A mother penguin lays one or two eggs at a time.

The parents take turns keeping the egg warm on their feet, under a special flap of skin.

The egg takes about 1-2 months to hatch.

The parent holding the egg can’t leave to find food, so they wait patiently. The dad holds the egg while the mom finds food.
