At the end of the fall semester, we usually have a week before winter break, which we believe is a great opportunity to promote the action plans we have been developing throughout the semester. To do this, we asked our teachers to present a set of slides in their classes. These slides included our two videos, a Scratch game, and a Padlet discussion board.
First, teachers played the videos for their students. We created different Padlet discussion boards for different grade levels. For grades 3 and 4, since they are younger, we designed multiple-choice questions—three for each video and three for the Scratch game.
For grades 5 and 6, since they are old enough to provide constructive feedback, we asked them to type short responses. They answered five questions for each video and three for the Scratch game.
Overall, both our peers and teachers provided positive feedback. We all felt a sense of accomplishment and believed we were making a meaningful impact on our school community.
