This page is designed to help students plan an academic schedule that aligns with their individual needs, interests, and educational goals. Parents and students in Grades 11 and 12 should carefully review the Program of Studies and related materials. Please note that the inclusion of a course does not guarantee that it will be offered or fit within a student's schedule. Course availability depends on sufficient enrollment and optimal teacher allocation. The school reserves the right to cancel any course for administrative reasons.
The Senior High School Program at KCIS-Taipei (Grades 11-12) is structured to prepare students for successful college and university admission. Students are encouraged to select courses that are academically challenging and meet the entrance requirements of universities in the countries where they plan to study. It is important to choose courses that reflect individual interests and career aspirations.
KCIS offers a range of advanced academic pathways, including Honors, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, the AP Capstone Program, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. These are rigorous, college-level courses that provide students with the opportunity to explore subjects in depth, discover new interests, and prepare for the demands of higher education. Many universities in the United States grant credit or advanced standing to students who achieve a score of 3 or higher on AP exams, though specific policies vary by institution.
Our curriculum must be dynamic and adaptable, meeting the diverse needs of students while supporting both academic and social-emotional development. It should align with both cognitive and affective learning goals.
Teaching strategies must be innovative, flexible, and inclusive, designed to actively engage all learners and encourage critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
Students should be given opportunities to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. They should be empowered to develop self-awareness, responsibility, and confidence as they prepare for global citizenship.
Administrators and teachers must work in partnership, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Administrators should be accessible to both students and teachers, ensuring fair, transparent, and consistent discipline, while making decisions that promote a positive school culture.
Teachers should embody professionalism, care, and dedication, serving as role models who inspire students to adopt positive attitudes and behaviors. They should nurture a supportive classroom environment that encourages lifelong learning.
The discipline framework must be clear, consistently applied, and aligned with our school’s values, promoting mutual respect and responsibility.
Students should be guided to develop a strong sense of community, responsibility, and citizenship, both within and beyond the school environment.
Parents are essential partners in their children’s education, and they should actively support school policies and initiatives, fostering a home-school connection that reinforces student success.
At KCIS-Xiugang Campus, all high school students are required to complete four full academic years. Each student must be enrolled in eight periods daily. The school follows the Ministry of Education's credit-based system, which is reflected in the student's transcript. To graduate and meet the qualifications for admission to universities abroad, students in Grades 9 through 12 must fulfill the following course requirements.
