河辺の「浪漫八橋」
大洲市河辺町には明治、大正、昭和、平成に架けられた八つの屋根付橋があり、「浪漫八橋」と呼ばれています。全国でも珍しい屋根のついた橋は、せめて橋の上だけでも雨露をしのげるようにという先人の知恵と優しさから造られたものと言われます。その思いを現代に受け継ぎ、河辺町の歴史的遺産として保存されています。
河辺・浪漫八橋「龍王橋」(りゅうおうばし)
農業の神様として信仰される秋滝龍王神社へ通じる道にあり、集落の共同休憩所や農産物の仮置場などに利用されていました。現在の橋は平成9年に復元されたものです。※長さ 25.4m 幅 2.0m

The "Eight Romantic Bridges" in Kawabe
There are eight covered bridges in Kawabe-cho, Ozu City, built in the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras, and they are called "Roman eight bridges. It is said that these bridges with roofs, which are rare in Japan, were built out of the wisdom and kindness of our ancestors, who wanted at least the tops of the bridges to be sheltered from the rain and dew. The bridge has been preserved as a historical legacy of Kawabe Town, carrying on the spirit of the ancestors.
Ryuoh Bridge, one of the eight romantic bridges in Kawabe
Located on the road leading to Akitaki Ryuoh Shrine, which is worshipped as a god of agriculture, the bridge was used as a common resting place for the community and a temporary storage area for agricultural products. The current bridge was restored in 1997. Length: 25.4m, Width: 2.0m
