"Chairing" is a trendy way to bring out your favorite chair and tuck in at your favorite spot.
The most recommended place for "Chairing in KAWABE" in Kawabe, Ozu City, is "Takamoei Joushi (Takamori Castle Ruins)" where you can enjoy panoramic views from 800m above sea level. This place is definitely one of the "100 contents of KAWABE" that will bring you a great impression.
The signboard on the site says: “The history of Takamori Castle Ruins.” - Here on Mt. Takamori is located on the border between the Yuritani settlement in the Sakamoto district to the north and the Ronden settlement in the Kitahira district to the south.
On the summit of this mountain (819.9 m above sea level), there has been a mountain castle since the Warring States Period, and the owners are said to have been Owarimori Ninomiya, the governor of the castle, and Saemonji Takamori, the governor of the castle.
Later, in 1571 (Genki 2), he was driven out of the castle because he disagreed with his vassals, who were displeased with his descent from Tosa, and he took up residence at Takamori Castle and had a territory in the vicinity.
He was forced into exile and settled in Takamori Castle, where he had a large area of territory in the neighborhood.

(2) Continue to GQ9H+R4F (entrance to Takamori Castle Ruins). From there, you will be on a dirt road for 900m. → GQ9G+GQF → GQ8G+WJP → GQ8G+5PM → GQ7G+5PX
GQ7G+5PX (parking space next to Takamori castle ruins, unpaved) This is the goal.
Since the ruins of Takamori Castle are located at a high elevation, road conditions may change during the winter months due to snow accumulation, etc. Please check weather information when visiting the site, and take extra care to drive safely by installing winter tires, etc., if necessary.
