河辺の「浪漫八橋」
大洲市河辺町には明治、大正、昭和、平成に架けられた八つの屋根付橋があり、「浪漫八橋」と呼ばれています。全国でも珍しい屋根のついた橋は、せめて橋の上だけでも雨露をしのげるようにという先人の知恵と優しさから造られたものと言われます。その思いを現代に受け継ぎ、河辺町の歴史的遺産として保存されています。
河辺・浪漫八橋「帯江橋(おびえばし)」
木製の橋の腐敗防止策として昭和27年に屋根が付けられ、農産物や農機具の一時的な保管場所として使用されてきました。また旧河辺村村民の憩いの場となっています。※長さ 16.5m 幅 2.8m

The "Eight Romantic Bridges" in Kawabe
There are eight covered bridges in Kawabe-cho, Ozu City, built in the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras, and they are called "Roman eight bridges. It is said that these bridges with roofs, which are rare in Japan, were built out of the wisdom and kindness of our ancestors, who wanted at least the tops of the bridges to be sheltered from the rain and dew. The bridge has been preserved as a historical legacy of Kawabe Town, carrying on the spirit of the ancestors.
Kawabe, Romantic Eight "Obie Bridge"
The roof was added in 1952 as a measure to prevent rotting of the wooden bridge, and it has been used as a temporary storage place for agricultural products and farming equipment. It is also a place of recreation and relaxation for the residents of the former Kawabe Village. Length 16.5m, width 2.8m
