Open to: Middle School students (6th-8th). High School students often visit and mentor Middle School students.
Timeline: The program runs throughout the school year, meeting weekly.
School Commitment Level: Low (and variable) - meetings are informal and open. Students are encouraged to attend when their schedule allows. Expectations are flexible - some students attend sporadically and work on improv activities while others create a calendar schedule and coordinate extra after school sessions with the advisor.
Time Outside of Meetings: Low (and variable) - again, students can simply attend and work on exercises and activities. They can also work outside of meetings on writing scripts and practicing lines.
Academic Focus Areas: This program focuses on creative writing, storytelling, acting and public speaking.
Skills Developed: This program incorporates and develops skills in reading, writing, expression, camera work, video editing, and teamwork.
