The University Middle homecoming week had many fun festivities, including the crowning of the king and queen.
Colin Robinson (7th) said that he was most excited about leaving early on Friday.
Reuben Bakker (6th) said he was most excited about dressing up during the themed dress-up days, which included, Pajamas on Monday, Halloween Costume on Tuesday, Glitter on Wednesday, Homies Day on Thursday, and U Middle Spirit on Friday.
Homecoming week had a points system, where students earned points in competitions, and the advisory with the most points won a Chick-fil-A breakfast.
To win points you had to compete in competitions such as cornhole and the Halloween costume contest.
Another way to rack up points was by the canned food drive.
In the end, the homeroom with the most points was Ms. Lazar’s.
When William Russel (in Ms. Lazar’s advisory)was asked if he thought his advisory would win, he said “At the beginning, no. But when I heard [that each] can [was] worth 5 points, I knew we could win if everyone bought cans”.
Homecoming week kicked off with the U Middle School dance on Friday, 10/27. At the dance, they crowned the king and queen who were JE Cooley and Taliyah Irving.
“It was fun to be on the court with all those great people.” Said JE Cooley. “[when I found out I was king] I was surprised and honored to be elected. ” he continued.
